Traditional Guest Shower Room

Project Details

We recently completed a beautifully considered guest shower room for a client with a traditional farmhouse, where maintaining the character and charm of the property was key to the brief. The aim was to create a space that felt entirely in keeping with the home’s heritage, while still offering the comfort and practicality expected of a modern bathroom.

At the heart of the design is the Burlington Edwardian basin and vanity unit in soft grey, bringing a subtle, understated elegance to the room. This muted tone works harmoniously with the rest of the scheme, adding depth without overpowering the traditional aesthetic.

To enhance the sense of warmth and timelessness, we specified brushed brass for all brassware and accessories, including the taps, shower fittings and valves. The soft sheen of the brass introduces a refined contrast against the neutral palette, while echoing the classic detailing found throughout the farmhouse.

Within the shower area, we installed Nuance wall boards—chosen not only for their clean, seamless appearance but also for their practicality. They offer excellent durability and ease of maintenance, while their finish complements the brass fittings beautifully.

Elsewhere in the room, tiling was kept to a minimum to preserve a more traditional, less clinical feel. This careful balance of materials ensures the space feels cohesive, characterful and perfectly suited to its surroundings.

The result is a welcoming and thoughtfully designed shower room that blends classic style with modern functionality—an ideal addition for guests, and a natural extension of the home’s timeless charm.
